For the live application complete all steps below (1-20).

For the demo application  skip steps 1 thru 12 and start in step 13

 

 

Install the SQL Server CE Server Tools (1-12)

Skip this section if you are running the demo application
The Installation of the SQL Server CE Server tools is only required in the server where the SQL Server/MSDE 2000 and the IIS is running.

1. Within the "Source Code" open the "Sqlce_Server_Installation." folder  and doubleclick on the "sqlce20sql2ksp3a.exe" file.

2. This action will launch the setup for the "SQL Server CE Server Tools" Setup wizard

3. Click Next to start the installation

4. Check the "I agree" option after reading the License Agreement and Click Next

5. Select the desired location for the installation. Click on the "Disk Cost" button to see how much available space you have and how much the installation requires (123MB)

6. The installation will check the computer meets the minimum requirements and it will give you a confirmation right before starting the process. Click next to start the installation.

7. When the installation is complete you will receive a confirmation. Make sure the "Check Box at the bottom of the form is selected before clicking the close button.

8-When you close the Installation form the SQL Server CE Virtual Directory Creation Wizard is launched. Click Next to continue.

9-Make sure you enter "CSTA_SD" as the name for the virtual directory. In addition to this, the location for the file sscesa20.dll can be modified by clicking the Browse button. Click Next to continue.

10. Check the "Anonymous Access" checkbox and click Next

11. Click Next in the next screen

12. See all the Installation settings together and Click the "Finish" button to continue

Install the Software in the Pocket PC

13. This section will show you how to copy The .Net Compact Framework/SQL Server CE files in the Pocket Pc. In addition to this you need to copy the CSTA-Pocket Pc Warehouse application to the device:

14. Open the ActiveSync Program. The ActiveSync installation package can be found in the "Sqlce_Server_installation"  folder. You need to install this program in the workstation that your Pocket PC is connected to, ActiveSync is the program that allows to transfer information between the Pocket PC and the workstation.

15. Click on the "Explore" button to browse through the Pocket PC folders.

16. Click the "My Pocket PC" Icon to go to see all the available folders in the Device. Open the Temp Folder

17.  Open the "Pocket PC Setup" Folder. There are two folders one for Pocket PC Mobile 2002 and the other for the same 2003 version. Based in the Operating system of your device copy all the cab files located in one of those to folders to the Temp folder located in the Pocket PC.

18. Open the temp folder by using the Pocket PC and double click one by one of the cab files that were just copied there.

19. This action will install the respective application in the Pocket PC device and will erase the cab files from that location.

20. Go to Start Programs and Click on the CSTA_Warehouse icon to launch the application
